Ghosts... Goblins... Ghouls... Dragons...

My favorite time of year has spooky goblins and ghostly ghouls. Oh, and it also has pumpkins and CANDY!!!! 

If you guessed Halloween... then you guessed correctly.

My parents decorate the house and of course we have a traditional take out Chinese meal (yes, I said Chinese take out) just before we embark on our Halloween Trick-or-Treating adventures.

Over the years I've been a lady bug, butterfly, Outsider GREASER, Hogwarts Hufflepuff student, and this year... I will be Toothless the Dragon!

My best friend decided to join in on the fun and be Stormfly the dragon. My poor boyfriend got sucked into this year's Halloween adventure and will be "Hiccup". Yes... all these characters are from the movie, "How to Train Your Dragon". 

I'm sure my boyfriend is trying to figure how the cuss to get out of this Trick-or-Treat adventure... and just stay in and watch a movie.

Loving Penelope = Trick or Treating with your Girlfriend in a crazy costume, getting free candy, and acting a fool while doing it.

I'm quite certain he will survive... Who knows I may be without a boyfriend after Monday.

Fall Break...

"Girl Power" update... Varsity chess team placed 2nd in the tournament! I won best board. It was an awesome win for the girls!

Fall Break... I had the pleasure of spending the week in the valley of the sun with my Nana and Tata.

As most of you know grandmothers have the awesome responsibility of keeping the family together. Yes, sometimes food is involved. After a week with my Nana... it was like an endless BUFFET!

I also got to spend some quality time with my older brother. Breakfast and getting caught up with everything going on in his life.

And... it wouldn't be a fall break success if I didn't traumatize my boyfriend. I invited him to dinner to meet my older brother and sister. Ah, the tables were turned. He survived and was so gracious as my family displayed ALL of their endearing personalities. Dinner was AWESOME!

After surviving a family dinner he was so sweet and gave me the most awesome presents... "Effie" the elephant and a pair of socks. It was the best fall break ever!

Girl Power...

Chess... a sport dominated by males right? Wrong!!!

This weekend our Varsity Chess team is comprised of 4 females and 1 male.

Now, LISTEN folks this is an anomaly of sorts.

Why, you ask?...

This has never happened in the history of our little ole school. Our Varsity male teammates had other obligations. Life happens!

When life happens it makes way for some truly unexpected anomalies! Girl POWER! 

Wishing our teammates a safe return home. The GIRLS are holding down the boards today.

Homecoming... Starlight... Star bright...

This week has been a week of celebrating Homecoming festivities. A mixture of silliness and fun. Our student council chose a "Hunger Games" theme.

So... our spirit week consisted of Lumberjack day, Disney character day, Blackout day, and Capitol Day. Totally makes sense right?

My favorite day was Disney day. I dressed up as Lilo and took a jar of spoons. It was a great hit. Who would have thought so many wanted to shake the living day lights out of the jar! I must punish my friends!

I had the sweetest invite to the Homecoming dance... 

So, naturally I accepted...

Looking forward to an evening of fun hanging out and dancing with my best friend!
