Ruh Roh...

What do Baby Puppy and Scooby Doo have in common?... our favorite people, Grandpa and Shaggy, love Kale!!! See that's KALE on the burgers.

Everyday Grandpa checks his plants and I know there's no sniffing, licking, or eating any of Grandpa's plants. I have exclusive rights to "Get off the Couch's" garden so I stay clear of Grandpa's plants.

So, Grandpa being the ever observant dude that he is spotted something wrong with baby Kale! Notice the leaves are missing and chewed up! Um... This was not Baby Puppies doing!!! Day 1 of "Baby Kale Gate".

Wow... someone was sure hungry! Nice at least they left the stem. Day 2 of "Baby Kale Gate".

Day 3 of "Baby Kale Gate" and then there was none!

Grandpa was not very happy... there was a lot of "what the cuss"... "who the cuss"... "when I find the cuss"... You catch my drift eh?

I thought who better to solve the baby Kale mystery than my 3 cousins! They have the best noses and could  sniff the "cuss" out responsible for this... BUT... since they all  live 200 miles away... Baby Puppy will need to solve this mystery!

After going on my daily security rounds of the tree house I spotted something very peculiar... You see it... Mickey and Minnie's tree. Baby Kale is just a sprint from their tree.

I checked their tree and surprise... surprise... they were gone.

So... I set up surveillance from my favorite spot... and you'll never guess who made a surprise appearance!?!

Yep... Mickey ... trying to eat "Get of the Couch's" hanging plant. I think Mickey left some presents on the deck after I barked him away!

Mystery solved... Scooby Doo would be so proud of me. May your Saturday be filled with no Mickey's, a few yummy burgers, and fields of green Kale!

Grounded... Sunny to the Rescue!

Sunita... "Baby Puppy" here to the rescue! I overheard grandpa telling Mommy she was grounded from her blog this week.

Something about a curse... or a burning inferno... Oh HELL, I don't know what it was about.

I thought you could spend your Saturday with me... taking a tour of my new home on this sunny morning.

So... Grandpa bought us a tree house in the forest.

I found a really cool tree in my backyard! It grows green balls that taste sooo good.

Mommy doesn't let me eat very many of them because she doesn't want to clean up the treasures I leave in the back yard.

I also made friends with two really strange looking cats, Uncle Henry and Mommy named them Mickey and Minnie. They don't appreciate my presents, all I want to do is sniff their buts and say Hi... Hello... but they take off before I get the chance!

The front of the tree house has some really cool trees that reach up to the sky. This is the tree where Mickey and Minnie live. They are so shy!

Oh... Oh... Allow me to introduce you to Mr. Hootie. Grandpa says Mr. Hootie is the tree-house security system. Mr. Hootie is always so serious! I bark Hello every day and he never flinches.

I could never be serious... never ever... my favorite thing to do is to make sure to eat... I mean smell the flowers in "Get off the Couch's" garden.

I hope you enjoyed my barkalicious tour this fine Saturday morning. Wishing you a Saturday of relaxation, freedom, and oh HELL, whatever you want it to be! Going back to watching my hero on TV...

Mothman Prophecies...

So after a Saturday of feeling very weepy... I thought I'd share a story to honor my living Grandparents whom I absolutely adore. They are my maternal Grandparents and they are affectionately known as "Nana" and Tata". They make me smile and fill my heart with so much love.

My Mother, aka... "Get off the Couch"... commutes to work twice a week. While she's in the valley working she stays with her parents, my "Nana" and "Tata".

There is no shortage of humor in the household and Mom begrudgingly shared a moment she had with her Mother, my Nana, several months ago. As told by my Mother and of course translated by me... Wait for it...

So... I thought you might need a chuckle to brighten your gloomy day and since I live with your Nana there's never a shortage of "bat shiz" crazy happenings.

So this morning as I'm loading up the car, a freaking moth the size of MOTHMAN Prophecies flies into my car. I open the car doors to coax the freaking thing out because I'm going to be late for work.

Wait for it... Enter frail Nana who is at that stage of her life whereby complaining that everything hurts is a daily occurrence. She has to take medication for this and that... you catch my drift eh?

Before I can get the MOTHMAN... Nana whips off her sock in a Ninja like motion and jumps into my car from the passenger side over the console to the driver's side front seat.

Using her frail injured arm (with sock in hand) she smacks MOTHMAN right out of my car.

Meanwhile... I'm standing there looking like a 10 year old girl afraid of her shadow still trying to figure out how the hell she made the Ninja type move into my car. As my mind is attempting to catch up to my confused state... she comes running around to the drivers side looking for MOTHMAN under the driver's seat. Her frail body all contorted to get under the seat.

She pops up with a look of accomplishment and yells, "I got it"!!! Now me embarrassed and shocked thinks... What the Hell just happened... AND there's no way I'm going to share this story... ever!

Image result for images of wait for itUntil... wait for it... Tata sends me a text all concerned and wondering if I'm okay?!? So, naturally I call him and say, "What's going on"? Tata says, "Well, your Mother said there was a bat in your car this morning and I just wanted to make sure you were okay?" "Oh my goodness, yes, Dad I'm fine and well I think I'm going  BAT shiz CRAZY"!!!

My Nana's saga is complete! Wishing you all a Saturday spending time with the loves of your life... Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Nanas, and Tatas.  Happy Grandparents day for all those living and those in heaven. Love you Grandma Jane, Grandpa Bill, Nana Lita and Tata Candido!

Weepy...

I find myself a little weepy this beautiful Saturday morning... Why? Well...

We finally made the move into our old-new house. I hear your thoughts... "Wait"... "What"... The house we just moved into was built in the late 70s. 1970s era... So my house could potentially have a historical plate on it. LOL right? The previous owner was so very kind to bring it into the 21st century for my family.

So... getting back to me feeling weepy. Two years ago my Grandma went home... As in embarking on the journey of her spiritual life. My family spent 5 glorious years living with her. She was such an amazing woman and feisty as hell. Yes, a curse word... Hi Dad... You can ground me from my blog next week!

The month of August was bittersweet as we spent 3 weeks in her condo while our old-new house was in escrow (new word...amazing what you learn). I didn't realize how much I missed her until the evenings in the condo. My Grandma would sit in her rocking chair while I practiced my violin. My love of the violin was nurtured by Grandma.

My last concert before she passed was at Christmas. Her favorite time of year because she was able to see her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her love of family was her life.

So this beautiful Saturday morning I'm celebrating Christmas in August. Weepy, cherishing the memory of Grandma's many Christmas celebrations here on earth, and holding her hand as she watched me play my violin in this video. Excuse the screaming child and quality of the video.... It's dad-o-vision at its best!
